Not sure if this is the right section but i could do with some advice regarding
my Canon 90-300 lens.
I was clicking away quiet happily when the view in the viewfinder went
cloudy.
I looked at the front of the lens thinking that it maybe covered in dust when
i noticed that the front piece of glass looked melted.
The only way i can describe it is that it looked like something hot had been
placed on the glass & had melted the inside.
The end of the lens is held on by very small Philips screws so i thought that
i would just remove it & replace the glass with a uv filter.
Anyway, get home & have a look at the lens & its all clear as if nothing
was on it in the first place.
Any suggestions as to what may have happened & also, can i remove the
glass at the front & just use a uv filter?
Thanks in advance.
