My Chester Zoo visit pt. I

Had to contend with bright sunlight (boo from a photography point of view, wonderful for me and the gfs first visit in years, I hadnt been since I was 5!)

Loved the butterflys' - didnt stay in there too long because of the humidity but it really has swayed me into at least getting macro filters to try out.

The detail on reptiles always amazes me, and being able to see it so clearly after the fact is fun.

Always nice to get a little colour in with the Lions, this was the most I saw him move pretty much all day, they sure love to sunbathe!

Such lovely animals, my girlfriend remarked they're a good size between a house cat and say, a tiger, had us laughing for a while!

Suprisingly my favorite part of the day wasnt the big exotic animals but a new bird section, - with only having 200mm as my longest lens I was plesantly suprised when birds where popping up all over the place, I have plenty more from inside this enclouser but wont bore you, loved it though, went back twice!

Glad to see you had a pleasant visit, and good weather too!

Some good shots there, nice colours and no blown highlights considering the sun was out. It's a shame you couldn't have made it to the zoo meet we had a few weeks back... I'm sure there'll be another one day!

I guess you'll be going back again sometime? Could be worth a season pass!

Got in free because I work at Knowsley (felt bad because it is a charity after all, but their staff come into our park for free ) - yes, I had my eye on the Chester meet, even posted my intrest in the thread it just didnt materialise, next time for sure though, now I know the layout and what to bring and not to bring

These are great. The lion wouldn't come out of his little brick house when I was there.
