No idea, he just simply stated he's spoken with NPS and they said the slight play is normalNot sure about that reasoning
Did they say why it's different on this model?

Nothing. Never used screen protectors!Awesome bit of kit all round though. What are you guys/gals doing for screen protection?

I shudder at the idea of placing the camera down on it's back to change lensesI hear you, but the D4 screen almost seems 'proud' to the extent that I'd be worried about it aking a knock. With the plastic screen protectors I had no quarms placing the body on it's back to quickly change lens (not long enough for stuff to fall into the body though). Won't be doing that with the D4!

I was thinking more about keeping my sensor dust OCD at bay having it facing up in to the worldlol, when all it rests on is a nice replaceable screen protector then it's ideal!

I think it's something only you can answer. I can fully appreciate why, to a lot of people, it's not worth it looking at specs on paper. But using it and reading about it are very different.so then... Those people that have them...
Is it worth the cash over a D3s??? I have 2 on pre order neither of which I've heard anything about as yet, if the changes are minimal I'm tempted to change my order

The differences are subtle, but they are numerous, enough so that in use it feels like a new camera and not just the incremental upgrade some make it out to be.
If you have the cash and can afford it, then it's a better camera, no doubt. But the D3s was (and is) such a good camera that unless some of the new features are 'must haves' then you wouldn't be at a huge disadvantage by keeping what you have now.
So to sum up. I've not made it any clearer for you
Been told by Jessops, that mine should arrive next week. Fingures crossed. I've been using my D300 for the last 2 weeks in France. Quite enjoyed it actually. I hadn't used it for ages prior to that.
Kev.
Kevshore do you know what number you are in the waiting list? They tell me that they have been only getting 2 body's each week for the last 2 weeks. Now they are saying they should get stock at the end of the month. TBH i cannot be bothered with mine now because by the time Jessops send them out it will be end of wedding season for melol.

Bet you'll be up the hills of wales soon after you pick it up ?
Its like a revolving 2 week delay. They are firmly blaming Nikon though.
But of course sir we are the biggest camera retailer in UK and we will of course get a more priority service and all backorders filled quickly...
With all due respect to Jessops - they might be the largest camera retailer in the country but they are by no means the most important to any of the major brands - and certainly when it comes to pro kit they are well down the pecking order.
Their management are deluded if they really think that they will clear a 100+ body backorder quickly, and their store managers likely being fed a load of crap to keep their customers on the hook for their deposits. Blaming Nikon is just an easy way out to placate you.
I'd say that a couple of bodies per week is likely to continue for at least another couple of months while NPS orders worldwide are filled and supply builds. After all they are only making 5000 a month... spread that across the world and it gets pretty thin.
If you are NPS you would almost be better off trying one of the Nikon Pro retailers like LCE, Calumet, Grays etc who will get priority over Jessops all day long.
