Any advice on using a Nikon body for somebody used to Sony/Minolta?

Set it to "iso auto" and take loads of pictures in gloomy churches or caves or evenings out and the like and be endlessly amazed at the lack of noise.

learn how to set the two buttons on front for right hand to access.

and learn not to draw breath sharpley every time you pick it up and cuddle it.

Any advice? Yup! Read the manual while the battery's charging. Take the manual with you on your holiday (or at least the quick start guide). Enjoy!!!

they are beautiful aint they? I just set mine to 'P' and went trigger happy for a few days. Mine was the bundled kit from Jessops, with the 24-120 vr. £1999

heard a lot of bad stories about this lens, but it seems good to me, ordering my 14-24 this week,....................cant wait.
