hi all im currently using a compact digi cam minolta f100.old and simple i know.but to my eye it gives a realy good picture.i took some close up shots of my lizzard and they turned out ok.now im looking at a slr or dslr cam that will be better for some amatuer photography.i have been looking at Konica Minolta DiMAGE A200 8.0 Megapixel . the Sony A100 DSLR .... Minolta Maxxum 5 or 7. anyone any sugestions of older cams that will take a quality shot etc and be good at macro pics.i have a budget of up to £100 -£150. i am a newbie and know very little so thanks 4 the help in advance ;)
 
For a DSLR macro really depends on what lens you have rather than what camera they are on. It's a combination of your focal length (how 'zoomed in' is is) and your closest focussing distance. I think you should look at lenses and the like and see how cheaply you can get a decent macro lens on the various different brands before you decide. I'm not much of a macro person so I don't know what to recommend for you, sorry :)
