Hi,

I have just received my first DSLR (A used Canon EOS 300D) and just wanted to share a couple of pics of it:

I managed to get the body for £74 (including postage) and that came with everything apart from the lens. It came with all the manuals, accessories such as charger and battery (although as stated in item description the battery wasn't holding charge so I purchased 2 compatible ones for £8) and the strap. The seller even gave me a CF card reader.

The condition looks really good, just wanted a cheap SLR camera to play around with before investing heavily into a brand new DSLR and thought this was a great one to be able to play with full manual mode. I feel better to take this on holiday with me next month too in case of any theifs or damage!

The previous owner was a photography teacher at a college :) so overall I think I did very well :). I spent about £139 in total including the lens (18-55).

Just wanted to share it :). Shows that if you look you can grab yourself a great bargain! So that's a full DSLR camera for the price of my Nikon Bridge camera.

Thanks.

Nice :)

Beware though, thats your entry level drug to SLRs.... next you'll have a 50D, then 5D, then 5DII then 1D-X

Great buy though, it'll grab some great memories for you.

Thanks :). Yes what I want to do is get used to the aperture settings, ISO settings etc on this camera and get myself a brand new Canon DSLR soon - a much more expensive one.

Only thing that annoys me is dust in the viewfinder, behind the screen etc but they're all normal, after all, this camera is about 9 years old :). Doesn't affect the image quality.

Thanks.

I also have to share this.

I purchased a 4GB CompactFlash card on eBay and received that today as well, and the box they used ---> don't know why they just didn't bother with a padded envelope or something:

Put it next to my Nikon L310 Bridge Camera so you can see the scale.

I had to go on a little hunt to find my tiny CF card in that box.

O.o

Great price! This is my camera too - I bought it like you to learn the basics on, and to have something that I can happily take on holiday or in bad weather without having to stress about it.

You only feel the pinch of the 6MP if you're heavily cropping (ie forgot the tele lens!)
