50mm 1.8 II, all taken with 450D, ISO 400, overcast... tricky focusing this thing, but fun to use:

Thanks for any comments.

I quite like all of those. Nice and sharp :)

nice group of pictures. 1 is the real stand-out for me, i love the way you have processed it...

Many thanks for the positive feedback. It's a fun lens to use; even if focus is somewhat tricky wide open. I took this photo with the same lens.

I love the one in your link. I wish I was half as good as you in PP! You really bring out the detail and make the images pop.

Agreed on focus being very tricky wide open. My success rate with f/1.8 is probably less than 50%! It doesn't help a useless monkey is holding the camera.

Very nice, I love #1 & #4!! I too have just started using my 50mm and can only mirror your comments on the tricky focusing. It can make for some great mistakes though, if you know what I mean :)

I don't actually think they're sharp enough to do it for me.
I feel you've almost got it but whether its the lighting or lens quality or combination. I dont know. Nos. 2,3,and 4 look a bit too flat and busy for my eyes Im afraid.
I can also see you in shot 5:)
