My first springtail

Ladies and gentlemen, we interrupt the postings of our usual jumping spiders for this special capture!

My first springtail. I've shot springtail before but only when they came into the frame when i was shooting something else, like when shooting an ant.

This one was 2mm long excl the antennae.

Still to find any of these, I need some more insect friendly nooks and crannies in my garden... #1 is my fave, great framing and I love the way he's slap bang in the middle of your DOF.

Superb shots and its great you posted the 1:1 shot as I dont think people realise just how tiny these things are.
