My first time...

Hey all,

At college on Tuesday we went in the studio's for the first time

Would love some C & C's on stuff i've taken pls :d

No 1 has a horrible shadow over the subject's left eye. Exposure just doen't look right - Over exposed.

No2 same issue except under exposed. No hair light or background light that would provide some separation of the model/background. The subjects head disappears into the black background.


No3 is also overexposed. Highlights lost in the cheeks and again no background/subject separation.

No4 is ok. Light to camera right looks a little too bright though.

No5 - shadows are pretty harsh. Maybe some fill would have lifted this. Again background/subject separation is poor.

The lighting in the first 3 shots seems a bit harsh, with some nasty shadows, as has already been said. The third shot seems a bit soft and out of focus. Just need either another light or a reflector to bounce some light back in to the face.

But for the first time in a studio nice effort, and well done for posting.
