Tried this last night. 24 exposures @25secs f4 iso400 on my d7100 17-55. Tried using the interval timer but kept shutting off ??

Ended up continuous with button locked down on remote.

I think it's excellent for a first attempt, is there a tutorial on here somewhere please?

Gaz that's a very interesting read. The timer on my d7100 kept stopping after a few shots. That's why I clicked onto continuous and that would only allow up to 30 second exposures. ?

This might sound daft but I'm thinking of trying to make a radiation sign out of star trails. Obv a bit of math and planning needed but have you ever seen this?

You've lost me on that one Paul.

A bit of software that's worth downloading is Stellarium. Its a free download and has the facility for you to put in the lat and long of a place and it will show you the night sky 360 degrees around it so you can see where various stars and planets will be and of course the Milky Way. You can also set a time in the future and see where various bits and pieces will be then.
