Hi All

I'm in a real quandary, so much so my head hurts.
I have £3500 to spend on a Nikon DSLR and lenses, i currently own a D3200 with a 16-85 f/3.5-5.6 DX lens, a 50mm f/1.8 and a Tamron sp70-300mm
I love Wildlife and Macro photography therefore i have been looking at the D7200.
However i want a camera that will allow me the option to use for event and wedding photography. So because of this i have been looking at the D750.

So my question is, which one is best for me? I want a decent Macro lens, probably the Sigma 105mm and a good long lens which will probably be the Sigma 150-600 C
So the D7200 for wildlife and macro
or the D750 and add a 1.4TC

Any other option i might be missing?

Would really value some opinion please before my head explodes :)
 
Which genre of photography do you do the most of? If its wildlife then I would think along the DX route. Especially as that 16-85 would still work. But if its an equal mix of everything, then the D750 is a fantastic camera that can do everything really well.
 
Id go for the D750, it seems everyone is starting to go full frame and I know for one that I took the plunge into the FX world a few years back and haven't regretted it for a moment, or what about a used D800 or D610? Save a few quid to put towards those lenses that you're after.
 
I just put your 2 bodies and 2 lenses into the HDEW basket and was left with £450 change from your budget- go for both?
 
All about the lens as well. Body will take you so far in terms of image quality.

Looking at your lens I don't know how much justice you will make on the D750 ......

I said it in a different thread, consider buying 1-2 quality glass and buy two used body. i.e D3s, D3, D700 etc.
 
D750 and maybe a used D7200 - by all accounts the Tokina 100mm macro is supposedly excellent for £300 ish. You can also get the very good 24-120 f4 for peanuts with the D750 leaving a fair chunk for other lenses, 70-300 vr / 80-400 etc or a nice long prime.
There is a lot of options open to you with that kind of money and you could pick up some nice kit.
 
Thank you everyone, I am thinking the D750 is the better option, and save for the D7200 The sigma 105mm is a great Macro so thinking that's the best lens and I'm thinking about the AF-S Nikkor 300mm f/4D ED-IF with a 1.4TC, think that would give me 440mm and a really sharp lens.

OM-D + 60mm macro + whatever you feel is needed for event/wedding photography (45mm 1.8, or maybe the 75mm 1.8, with a 25mm f1.4). Get these used on eBay and spend the rest on a photography trip. Enjoy walking around without a lead weight on your back, the DoF and IBIS for macro work, and the beautiful-can't-tell the difference from FF images from the primes.

For a bonus you get an open system with two committed manufacturers, an amazing lineup of lenses, and a camera that doesn't scare people off :D.
