My Live View broke!

Well, I thought it did.

I was practising with my light tent but I'm badly sun burnt and can't lay down, so I bunged Live View on and it wouldn't work. It was just black. I tried taking a normal picture and looking through the view finder and everything was fine. I took the lens off and watched the mirror flip round... How strange...

It took like me like 10 minutes thinking my camera was broken before I realised I was on 1/400, ISO 100 and f/8. The shots were taking properly because the flash was being fired.

I had this problem with my compact last week, it worked on landscape but not on portrait where I had to use the viewfinder.

Then I twigged that I was wearing polaroid sunglasses and LCD screens are polarised.
