Congrats Bob, I had a 7D and 5D2 combo for a while until I sold them both to go for a 5DMkIII. I'm sure you'll love it, I had some issues with mine which made me favour the 5DMkII, but if you shoot sports, BIF or anything fast it's great.

I think the decider was the distictly average shots I obtained from the recent Lincoln GP cycle race using my 550D. Don't misunderstand me, the 550 is a great bit of kit, but the AF is not up to fast moving subjects.
