Been looking for a 40d for while now, anyway got in from work today and came a cross a 40d with 17-85mm is usm on the tinterweb, ended up costing me £550 for the lot, bargain me thinks, and to make it even better the fellow who i brought it from only lived 4 miles away :D, so im a very happy bunny tonight sitting on the sofa playing (WITH MY CAMERA)

bargain enjoy

You will love it, I may now have the 7D, but still own 2 40D's and love them, great cameras. :D

How cool is that, sounds like a great price! :D

Enjoy

Welcome to the 40D owners club.
I commend your for your wise choice

Very jealous. Am on the lookout for a bargain 40D. Can't wait to get started!!

Bargain price that, I paid £550 body only this time last year. Enjoy it, you won't regret it. I moved up from a 400D too and the difference is huge.

Thanks for all the replys guys :), I could put it down last nite i was up until 4am this morning lol, and guess what its out again :D, if anybody has any useful tips for the 40d i would greatly apprieciate them....

Very good price for an even better camera!
I love my 40D, and making the 'move' from another brand :D to Canon has certainly been a great move.

Only downside with Canon is the godamn L lens lust.

L lens lust and a tight mrs don't go down well together

Enjoy your baby :)

I have no L lens yet, but thats *** i want, at the minute ive got the tamron 17-50 2.8 and the canon 17-85 IS usm, thinking of selling one but not sure which, any idea's

Both good lenses......

I can also highly recommend both the 24-105mm F4 L and 70-200mm F4 L.
Second hand prices are pretty resonable, especially the 70-200 for around £400 maybe less.
The 24-105 can be had for around £600.

Both sharp as hell, even wide open at F4.

Had one ages. Love it. Hope you do too

Im looking at getting a 100-400 IS :D

Very nice too.

Do you really need a zoom lens?
For a similar price (I think, I may stand corrected) you could get a 400mm F5.6 L prime?
Now that is a lens I dream of owning

To be honest, i think a zoom would be more flexible for airshows/birding ect

When i brought my 40d, the bloke told me it had only 1700 clicks, so last nite i decided to put it through the astrojargon actuation software to see if he was been honest with me, and to my suprise its only done 2100 clicks so again im a happy bunny :D
