My new toy

Santa brought me this today:

I also got a 200mm f3.5 which appears, after a quick play, to be peachy. The 400mm isn't the sharpest but someone tell me how to get better for £20.00! However it doesn't appear to be that bad either - I managed to focus quite sharply on a water drop at the bottom of the garden hanging from the washing line although this was through the conservatory window...Can't wait to use it in anger!

What a beast, do you get a fork lift truck with that?

It's not actually that heavy, its all metal/glass construction but of course theres no electronics/focus motors etc. In good light I can shoot handheld with it, though it is best on a tripod.

Just wish I had the time to get some use out of it! It'll be handy when we go to the marsh though!

You know I have a Siggy 24-70 EX f2.8 and for its size its dam heavy.
