That looks great, the crop is nice and sharp too. I had the lens but never got around to getting the TC.

I've been shouting how good this is since it came out. It's a cracking combo. I don't care what the scientific test people say. It's about the end result that you can print out at a reasonable size that matters.
wait until you try it on the vrII! ;)

Your the reason I got it lol, and I owe you a BIG thanks :) but what is different from the VRI-VRII? Is it really that much...... :thinking:

Mine is the VRI and I have only used it to take test photo's, but I can't tell much difference in the focus, I will have to wait and see.....
 
The chart often says that, even though it does. I'm not sure if yours will or not.

Depends which 300mm lens you have.

With the 300mm f/2.8, the 2x TC makes it 600mm f/5.6 and it will AF on all Nikon bodies.

With the 300mm f/4, the 2x TC makes it 600mm f/8 and Nikon do not state unambiguously what will happen. A pro-spec body should AF. A low-spec body probably won't, but it might try and might succeed in very good light. A mid-range body should try and may or may not succeed. (I think.)

It was taken at 16:56, f5.6 @ 1/30 ISO1600, handheld and VR turned off just to see what it would be like.

I have the f4 (I'm only just getting into photography, I think the 2.8 is a bit above my budget for now!) and as you can see, a d5000 so I doubt it would on mine. I am probably getting the d7000 soon, but unfortunately I can't return the 1.4x now and can't afford to buy the 2x as well as that so I guess I'll be sticking to what I have for now :)
 
I also just used the combo kenko 1.4x + nikon 2x + 70-200 on the D90, its ok but it would have to be used in very good light.
