For ages I have been dithering about getting a photography website set up for me, my friends and family. As a place for me to post random stuff as well as put images online for people to see.

Can you have a quick look and let me have your immediate impressions (not much content yet !)

Could be my personal preference, but first impressions for me are good :thumbs:

I like the colours and layout, you need to get more stuff on there as soon as you can, but visually for me I like it, it's simple and not to flashy.

A decent start, I do like the colours and layout, basic and easily read which is the KEY to a website!!

Couple of small things....

1. the background colour of the logo doesnt seem to match the banner part behind, its more of a darker brown...easily fixable
2. the second link (portfolio) seems to be spaced to far right of the Home link for some reason....again easily fixable
3. I like the main image but im not a fan of the raised shadow behind it, only because the top seems to blend in with the background but the other three sides have a shadow.....just my opinion...others may like it

Other than that it looks good :)

1) Fixed
2) This is mainly to draw attention to the home link. But if others agree it can easily be changed.
3) Fair point - again the image can easily be changed, I'll see what others think.

I definately agree about the home button. They should all be evenly spaced and it could do with being bumped in a bit so that it lines up with the image and text beneath it.

I like it overall but I am not keen at all on the portfolio opening in a new window and I am not too sure about the centered text and logo. I would have like the portfolio to have replaced the main photo of the little girl rather than the popup window.

I gave it away by saying I was there in 1989 !

makes me v.old.....
