I've had a Velbon CX 560 tripod, but it never felt solid to me, a bit loose and wobbly and even holding it it just didn't feel right.

I've read lots of reviews of the Redsnapper tripods and decided to take the plunge. I got the RS-284 and the RS-12 3 way head. Out of the bag it feels much sturdier and I also like the multi positon legs for getting low (the velbon's legs were fixed) and the additional shorter pole.

I like the 3 way head, again it feels much stronger and more solid than the Velbon ever did (the velbons head is plastic).

I've got a ball head on my monopod, so may swap over so I can try the ball head on the tripod.

I've not done a huge amount of tripod work yet, but hoping to do some landscape and some low light shooting soon.

The tripod comes with a bag which is great, nice padded shoulder strap.

My only complaint is I can't keep the 3 way head on the tripod when I put it in the bag as the arm on the 3 way head sticks out because of the large mounting plate on the tripod. This is another reason to try the ball head, then I can leave the ball head on.

Hopefully I will get some shooting time this week.
 
I have just placed my order for the RS-283 and RSH-12 Ball head, 10% discount + delivery cost came out at £97+few pence, looking at reviews on here it should be a good buy and look forward to getting it in the next few days.

If you fold the arm down you will be able to place the complete oufit into the bag
 
If you fold it down it hits the mounting plate. It just squeezed in last time, but the bag is stretched

can you unscrew one arm....?

like in the Giottos MH5001, which then screws into the other arm = slick idea..:D

I have mine in front of me. I have it folded down between 2 of the legs.

I then goes into the bag with plenty of room.

Over the years I have established that in many situations it is always important to position the legs to achieve the result I am after. Especially when It comes to Tripods and posing for the camera!
