it's landed, not a patch on the build quality of my can lenses IQ seems ok but the telephoto is harsh and stiff the focus ring is just loose to rotate and you can't use manual focus with af switched on
my efs 17-55 f2.8 is so much better quality as is my 18-85 f3.5

why did you buy it? Seems an odd choice.. if its for travel, then I find it odd that you would leave a 17-55 at home to use a vastly inferior lens.

tamron or is it tampon lol
 
I wanted a walkabout lens and decided it was between the tamron 18-200 or the 18-270. when I tried out both lenses I decided I could live without the extra 70mm at the far end...and my bank balance is £300+ better off!

Cant understand why the difference in price is so huge. 18-200 £170; 18-270 £500! Go figure :)
 
if you think that price difference is bad i upgraded the 18-55 is kit lens to a 17-55 f2.8 and the price difference is 700 quid for no real focal length difference but what a lens the f 2.8 is serious difference in size weight and quality.
I suppose the canon f2.8 quality has spoilt me a built hence why I think the tampon range is pants build quality, especially for the £500+ price tag for the 18-270 pzd
 
bought it as a general walk about, bought it on line so never realised how poor the quality is
one thing for sure I wont be buying any more tampon lenses
at least with the tampon I won't be paranoid about damaging it and rain on walk about unlike my 18-55f 2.8
