hi everyone ,,I wanted a tripod that was solid but also light ..not easy to find...im 6 feet 3 ...I looked at gitzo.giotts, velbon, benro, the list goes on ..I ended up getting the manfrotto 055 carbon fibre 4-section tripod, with horizontal column....first of all I bought the 3 section version but found it was a tiny bit to long...the 4 section is superb ,its light small when folded up and even though its 4 leg its rock solid....I would highly recommend it..with my tripod and the head its 2 feet in lengh...all I use are the sigma dp Merrill dp1 ,dp2 and dp3...this combo is perfect for long hikes and being carbon fibre makes a hugh difference ..not cheap I would say but to me worth every penny and should last a long time...the induro head is amazing to as I don't really need a nodal slide to do pans I, I use the top plate and its numbered so I know how far to turn ...its taken me a lot of research to get this setup and the legs with this head is superb....my sigma cameras all have l brackets which are arca swiss compatiable that is why I got the Induro PHQ1 5 Way Pan head its sooooo easy to setup....my next step is to get a decent tripod bag and have my Merrill of chocice attatched to the head and that way I don't need to lug around all my cameras....with my Nikon d800e and canon 5d mark 3 this was just a real pain .....so anyone who is thinking of getting a head tripod combo this is the one I would get.....I must add a looked at all the heads including the arca swiss cube and I still prefer my iduro
