My view of Prague

Posted these somewhere else, but never got around to putting them up here for some reason. I was in Prague a little over a week ago and loved the city, and so here are some of my favorite shots. The night shots were my first attempts at night photography - there were a lot of duds but some of them turned out I think. C&C always welcomed.

Very nice series. The detail and tones in the night shot of Hradcany Castle and the Charles bridge is excellent.

Hi

I've never been to prague and this set encourages me to go even more.

The last two stand out for me... def the sort of pics I'd try and take...

I like the first one but I don't know 100% about it... I find the foreground a little distracting but I know exactly what you where trying to do.

The second one I dont like at all... I just find the blurred foreground so distracting... It would have been better as a straight shot without the peeping out... although some togs love shots like that... I know my fiancee is always taking stuff like this.

erm... forgot numbers now... the one with the out of focus lamp... I think it would have been better if the foreground had been in focus too... I find the lamp a distraction out of focus.

Finaly want to say... the last one is great... very comercial... take it you used the tripod? Can I ask as interested in what tripods people take traveling with them as my travel tripod has dies and cant find a suitable alternative... what do you carry?

tbh mark you'd be better off with a bean bag in prague as theres always a wall or something near by to use :)

The first pair in daylight would benefit from a trip to PP. The colour balance is off and the levels need fixing. I do like the last

Thanks for the comments.

Ya, no tripod for any of the shots as it is next on my list of purchases. The nights shots were all hand held, but the last one did have the help of a railing post I believe to help keep it steady. I was playing around with my 50mm f/1.8 that night and that one was at f/2.2 at 1/15 with ISO800. This is also why the lamppost in #4 was out of focus, due to the shallow DOF of the 50mm 1.8.
