Natural progression from canon 1000d

Would there be a natural progression from a canon 1000d and will my present lens's still fit
 
You don't say what your present lenses are, so assuming they are a mixture of EF and EF-S lenses any body in the Canon ###D or ##D ranges would accept them.

The natural progression is usually towards better lenses first, and a better body later.
 
Why do you want to progress? Are you photographs limited by the capabilities of either the body or the lenses? Are there things you want to do but find that you can't?

...all xxd bodies apart from the 10d!

As already said, what do you want to improve on?
 
To be honest it's image quality I'm not too happy with especially my sigma lens shots, I appreciate it's not just a case of point and shoot to get great photos but I do wonder if a better lens/camera might help
 
Well, the least useful thing to change would be the body if you want an improvement in image quality. Good lenses and good technique are the easiest way to improve things. But without samples it's difficult to say which of improving lens or technique would make the biggest difference.
 
I've just changed my pc and most of my images are on an external hard drive o I'll upload some as some as possible

So is it fair to conclude that you specifically don't get on with Sigma lens, and should be really looking at the cause of the problem, not the symptoms.
