This site was recommended in a recent post for 'Inspirational photography'

This takes IMVHO, photography to a whole new level, I have never seen anything like them.

I have two choices as I see it, sell all me gear or start trying to think out-of-the-box.

One rule that seems to predominate is that of the thirds, also I noticed an awful lot of space left around the subject, even very small subjects.....so as to put them on a third.

There appears to be a lot of PP used as well.

Quite depressing really :'(

FOR SALE
1 hardley used, by very careful owner.........:D

Wow!
Like you said; some wonderful images in there.

Seems to be far less OTT PP than many other sites.
Even the landscape with the lurid purple sky looks more like Cokin grad abuse than HDR or other PP.

I've bookmarked for a proper look later with a cuppa and chocolate biscuit.

I just worked out why the content is of such a high standard!
Have a look at the FAQ.

When will my photo on the site?

The picture is on the site if it is approved by moderators least 3. We try to photograph within 48 hours to treat, but doubt this can sometimes take longer due to circumstances.

What criteria must fulfill my picture?

With the following criteria, wherein the first and the last are the most important, but also the other criteria must be complied with certainly.

-The photo must be innovative, surprising and creative! It is on this site first. Registration Pictures are enough and that is why Nature-Inspirations a website where creativity comes first.
-The photo must, in any way, a facet of nature depicted in the way that is most pleasing to the photographer. It must therefore be wildlife! These can be very broad, but the moderators reserve the right to to determine what is and what is not wildlife.
-The technical side of the photo must also be in order, provided that the intention of the photographer has been the technique so subordinate to the aesthetics. Herein, a compromise must be found and of course this will be done in consultation with the photographer. The moderators hold have the right to ultimately determine what is or is not in the profile of this site fits.
-Photos by feeding places are allowed, but again apply criteria 1 and 3!
-Also litter pictures, limited. This means that it has to be sure the photographer is not the nest / birds has been damaged or disturbed. We will herein from the honesty of the photographer and also hope to encourage responsibly shooting.
-When evidence of a possible violation of law or regulation the moderators have the right to refuse or still pictures to delete.
-Placing a copyright in the photographs is not permitted. Names of characters in a picture promoting the appearance of the picture usually.
-The dimensions of the images should be at a horizontal picture on the underside at least 700 and a maximum of 800 pixels, and a vertical picture must meet the vertical side to be a maximum of 800 pixels and a minimum of 700.
And ... last but not least ... The photo must add something to the database of Nature-Inspirations. So when a picture appears more or less identical to a picture already placed, the moderators have the right to refuse this picture.

Sadly a lot of them are fake with massive PP. Half of the "best photo of the week shots" have fake backgrounds on them for a start. Look at the shots of the butterflies for an example. I actually know how shots like that are done, including the backgrounds, which is a separate photo to get the massive bokeh ball effect (very long telephoto lens to get the compression needed to really blow them out).

Sure, some of the shots are nice, but most of them definitely aren't "natural"

Which butterfly pic? Anything specific in particular that makes you think the pic is fake?

Sadly for you perhaps, but some people don't mind PP.

The site is called nature inspirations presumably because the topic is nature. I don't think its pretending to be straight out of camera (which is not "natural" anyway in my opinion).

Love these two..

Hi,

It was me who recommended it in another thread, I have long admired some of the pictures on it. The title I think says it all and if some of them have been PPed then I take my hat off to the job they have done. :)

Fake, not fake, PPed to death, no PP.... who cares. There are some really good shots.

....I have two choices as I see it, sell all me gear or start trying to think out-of-the-box....

Pah, anyone can do those shots, although I reckon the shot of the ibex silhouette might take a few lifetimes :)

Not for me- I love to see good PP work, its become an integral part of Photography these days- Some nice images on there

Les

They do nothing for me although I can appreciate the effort. Just confirms my dislike for PP I suppose.
