Nature locations - where to take the camera for a walk? (looking for Reading/Theale this weekend)

In general, what's a good method to find places to take the camera out for a walk? I'm doing some googling and looking on dedicated nature trail websites but not coming up with much useful info (it's mostly aimed at dog walkers and general ramblers).

Also, any recommendations for places around Reading?

One factor missing from my search results so far is timings and what to look out for - but that might be asking a bit much! I'm aware these things take time, but hopefully I've missed a useful website or app.
