I dabble in nature captures but with a significant birthday this year what do you think i should ask for?

I have a nikon d7000, 18-55mm and tamron 70-300mm, i have a tamron 150-600 promised for said birthday and already en route.

Are there any other lenses i can ask for to supplement the above?

Is there anything else you can recommend ? I have a decent tripod and monopod.

Something for the smaller natural subjects? A macro lens?

I had a Sigma 150mm f2.8 and thought it was rather good. Might be worth a look...

Another vote for a good macro lens to give you more options,it may be an idea to budget for a camera upgrade even if you dont do it at the moment,if you find you need higher ISOs with the tamron i found the D7000 a bit noisy, others will disagree but thats life ;)

My wife has the AF-S 40mm f/2.8G DX Micro on her D3300. It's a good quality lens which also doubles as a good walkabout. Since she got the 40mm macro, her 18-55mm has hardly been used.

Good boots, waterproof coat & trousers, few pairs of gloves, good hat & patience. You potentialy will be sitting in the cold for hours - & the effect of this will show if you don't get your exposure protection correct..

Your camera will be able to stand up to more than you can.

Is that an offer of a pressie Gramps? Most kind (y)

Thanks all, think a macro would be a good option, I'll buy myself another body later in the year, probably a d7100

A ticket to Antarctica, South Georgia and the Falklands! Amazing nature in all meanings of the word.
