Morning all, I'm looking at getting a few ND grads so that I can take outdoor shots without blowing the sky or under exposing the foreground, as what usually happens.

Budget and eagerness wont allow me to get a set of Lee filters so I was looking at getting a Lee filter holder and the set of three ND grads (soft) from Hitech. I currently have both a 17-55 and a 10-22mm lenses, both of which are 77mm at the front.

Now, what is the difference between the 100x100 and the 100x150 apart from size obviously? is there a reason to get the bigger ones?

Are Hitech a decent alternative to Lee?
 
Despite what the website says, I don't think the hitech grads are actually available in 100x100. The options are 100x125 or 100x150. The long edge is the vertical one so that you can slide the filter up and down in the holder to move your graduation line to match the horizon. I have the 150's and they work well. Not sure that the 125's would give you a great deal of movement though somebody who has used them would be better placed to comment.

Hitech are certainly a good budget option. I use them and have been very pleased so far. One tip, make sure you get the 77mm wide angle Lee lens adaptor for your 10-22 rather than the standard one.

Nope, it's just more expensive (it's metal rather plastic) which is why you may opt for the standard one but in your case you'll only need the one so may as well get the 77mm wide.
