In order of highest to lowest, quality of filter kit goes

Lee - Hitech - Cokin

And that is reflected in the price

What do you mean by ND filters? How dark? What do you want to use them for?

Or do you mean ND grad/graduated filters?

Hi HoppyUK thanks for reply, I would be using the filters for landscapes. This is the set of filters I have been looking at.

Graduated Filter Kit, made up of graduated neutral density filters in densities: ND 0.3, ND 0.6, ND 0.9

I'm not a big fan of grads so maybe not the best person to ask (prefer HDR technique, which I think is generally better, and free) but if that's a Lee kit then it will be good.

Personally, the only grad I ever use a 0.6 (two stops) hard cut.

I personally use Cokin Z pro in both hard and grad form. I have found no problems with the so called magenta cast. There is a school of thought that the coating deteriorates with time and I am told that lee will offer a recoating service should that happen. Again I have no experience of that and have only been using these Cokins for 8 months but used Cokin for many years as a film photographer. For 10 stop NDs and polarisers I use Heliopan which some regard as equal to BW all I can say is that they work for me. Colour casts should in any case be no problem shooting in RAW with pp if required.
