Hi,

Can anyone point me in the right direction for a starter set of ND grads please? I've heard hitech are a good make. Do they fit in kood holders? Also not sure what is better hard or soft grad. Just want to get better sky detail really.

Would really appreciate it if someone could suggest a few to start with.

Thanks

Craig

Hitech are a great first set. I found them more 'neutral' than Cokin which I always thought had a pinky tinge.

They will fit a Cokin P holder (same width) and as you've said are available in hard or soft.

Hard grads are good for very flat landscapes or seascapes where the horizon is flat. Soft grads are more suited to undulating horizons - hills - tree lines etc.

Thanks Dinners,

Am trying to decide whether to go for a kit of soft or hard or a few separate filters in both hard and soft. Do you find you use the 0.3, 0.6 or 0.9 more?

Was thinking of starting with a 0.9 hard and 0.9 soft but very open to advice.

Craig

The soft hitech set is a great kit to get started with
