I'm in the market for a budget lens, ideally i'd love to get a good macro but as stated before i'm on a budget :annoyed:

I've also been looking into a semi decent zoom lens, right now my bag consits of a couple of kit lenses, Nikon 18-55 and 55-200.

I've been looking at the Tamron 70-300mm f4-5.6 Di with AF Motor and can't seem to find any decent reviews of it, so i thought i would come to the folks in the know.... you guys.

I've not been doing photography for long at all but now i'm getting the bug BIG time and i'd like to start investing in some decent kit for better variety of pictures.

Any help at all would be greatly welcomed

thanks.

300mm is not massively longer than 200mm in practice, in terms of new subjects it will allow you to shoot. So if you want to extend your picture taking options on a budget, in a macro direction, then spending a lot less money on a set of extension tubes (Kenko) or a close up lens (eg Raynox) might be a better way forward. They would both go quite well on your long zoom.

should have mentioned that i'm selling my 55-200, so i wont have a zoom lens

I'm ideally looking for a pretty versatile lens because I want to keep my lens changes to a minimum, missed so many good photos thanks to lens changing, I just seen the TAMRON AF18-200MM F/3.5-6.3 XR Di-II LD ASPHERICAL (IF) MACRO and it had some decent reviews but can't decide
