Need a new printer

Im after a new printer and been looking at Epson PX710W or Canon PIXMA IP4000 currently got a Epson R220 ink is cheap but recently the quality just seems a bit off and constantly having to clean head etc... using Jetec compatible cartiridges.

I wouldnt get rid of the R220 but instead just use it for normal printing and save the new printer for the HQ stuff.

Seen a lot of people saying Canon is much better and cheaper to run is that true? What ever I choose it has to be able to print to CD/DVD and wireless would be nice as on the Epson PX710W.

Are they any other contenders to consider... Cheapest Epson PX710W I found was on pixmania with 8% quidco

Depends what you are looking for really. Do you want something really good at printing photos, documents or a bit of both?

Bit of both, mainly cd printing

To be honest, you seem to have found a pretty decent model, good company, solid build equipment, decently priced cartridges.

Pay day tomorrow so I think I will treat myself to a new Epson PX710W the main reason is im really struggling for space and the wifi will come in very handy.

I would second this. Great printing, does CD's, and the ink isn't that expensive compared to some.
