I've recently sold my 350D + kit lens so was planning on buying something to replace the kit lens. Currently I've got the 10-22mm, 50mm f/1.8 and Sigma 70-300mm APO, and use them all on my 40D. The 10-22mm is easily my most used lens, as I take a lot of landscape photos mostly.
I was considering the Sigma 18-50mm f/2.8, although I've had another look at what I can get and was also considering the Tamron 17-50mm f/2.8. Although Yet option I have been considering today was something like the Sigma 18-200mm f/3.5-6.3 which can be had for a similar price range.
I know that having a larger zoom will inevitably give a reduction in quality, but there seems to be mixed reviews about it on the internet. Does anyone have any thoughts on the lenses mentioned above? I was also considering a few others, such as the 28-135mm, however I don't think the wide end would be wide enough for my needs really so have decided that would be a no. My budget is around £250 or so, although I could stretch to £300, or possibly a bit further.
Thanks,
Rob
