Im over in the US for a couple more months and want to get rolling on a project. Basically I want to do a theme for a large set of images and the idea that I have been throwing around the idea of doing houses and the people that live in them.

Reason is that im up in the New England area and there are some great looking houses and it would be great to photograph them as they have so much character but it would also be good to see the people that live inside them.

Now, how would I go around doing this, walk up and knock on doors? Or do people usually have a problem with this.

Any advice would be great.

Sounds like a great idea :) Planning to do similar when I am 30 (2013) but not thought of a theme yet. Really hope it works out for you.

As for how to go about it.....I would guess you might get a few shoots out of just knocking on doors, but personally I would be slightly wary of anyone who just polled up wanting to take my photo. I would maybe try and contact some local photography groups (if there are any) and either see if they have anyone willing to take part of have any leads, friends of friends etc. Other than that I am out of ideas, but look forward to seeing what you get :)
