Need help on choosing a camera

Hi everyone,
i really need help in buying a camera (bridge/compact camera)like the Fuji finepix HS10 but not as expensive. i would prefer if the camera had a manual/ twist zoom not the electronic zoom's; dont really like them. i would like at least 10x optical zoom and good quality photos. not to bothered about video as dont really have anything to record. Thanks for your help.

Plenty of bridge cameras but I don't think there are any with the type of control on the zoom you describe, though others may know better.

Perhaps an older fuji s100fs? I had the even older model, the S9600, for a while, and got many good pictures with it.

Panasonic FZ50 has manual zoom and meets your other requirements. It's a bit old now but I don't know if any others from that range are comparable.

Have a look on ebay for the fuji S9500 or 9600 these are twist zooms and are cracking cameras. All the photos on THIS page apart from macro shots (they were taken with fuji s8000fd) were taken with my Fuji S9500 which I bought off ebay for £50
