Need help with Canon 450d

Hi guys, this is my first post, so hello all!
I have a problem with a 450d which i can seem to find a cure for, and was wondeing if anyone else has experienced this and can offer me some advice.

I cant get ANY sd card to work in this camera. When i pop a card in and turn the 450 on, i get;

"Card not formatted. Format card with this camera"

On the format menu, for format (and low level format) I get; "Cannot format. Change card."

Any ideas? I know the card(s) is good as it works fine in another 450d, and works fine on my PC. Card is unlocked. I have tried 4 different cards, rangeing from an old 512mb, to a 2gb then a 4gb. I have tried brand new and old. All cards work in other cameras, and on PC, so it MUST be a camera problem. Im not sure how to factroy reset these, but I have removed battery and lens and waited 24 hours, and I have also one the clear settings / custom fuctions on the menu.

Firmware is 1.0.9. Im unable to update firmware due to the above problem. EOS utility says exactly the same as the camera; card not formatted etc.
This is my 4th 450d and the first time Ive ever come accross it. I hope someone can help!
 
Looks to me as you will have to get the camera serviced. Have you asked in Jessops for some advice?
 
I had exactly this problem with an SD micro card in an adapter.

It stopped working after I took the adapter out a few times to plug directly into my computer.

It still worked in my computer and a 2Gb card in the adapter worked in the camera but not the 8Gb.

I replaced it with a full size 16Gb SD card which solved the problem.

But since then I download to my computer via the USB cable and keep the card permanently in the camera.

thanks guys, i did suspect that it was a camera issue. im surprised i cant find more info on the net about this, as im sure i cant be the only one with this problem!

in any case; off to canon it goes...
