Need new memory card(s) required - recommendations?

I have a £25 Amazon voucher and I'm looking for another 8/16gb memory card to add to my collection. I only have 1 card at x400 and I'm finding the other cards (30mb/s) cannot keep up when shooting at high FPS - buffer fills quick.

Do you have any recommendations for x400/x600 cards? Ideally looking at nothing less than 8GB, I shoot in RAW and this gives me about 280 images which I'm happy with.

Personally I'd get the fastest Sandisk or Lexar card I can - but you don't mention if this is a CF card or SD card - although that also doesn't matter.

I don't think I'd buy a card at the moment that wasn't a Sandisk Extreme Pro 95mb/s.. ..

But, pass me the psychic hat.. I'm not quite picking up on the model of camera, whether the OP needs SD or CF, whether they need HD video performance or any other useful information that might enable someone to provide a really useful answer.

And a four hour bounce on a working week day.. .. what sort of response is expected? Not even a "please" in the original post either..

The buffer issue might be the camera.

Thanks for the details, I need a CF card for my 7D!

As for the buffer, the memory card cannot keep up with the write speed which is why it freezes as it works fine on my 60mb/s.

You didn't state what camera you had, could have been a 400D :)

I like sandisk extreme cards- for the warranty if nothing else- but any of the big brands will be fine. What's more important is who you buy from- there's lots of fake sandisk cards around. I'd stick with official amazon, mymemory (who sell on amazon too) or someone else you know is reputable- rather than some random marketplace seller.

Oh and don't splurge for speed your camera won't use- memory doesn't hold it's value.
