need printer advice

Hi everyone

My name is John and im new to all of this. ( i like the icon option , kinda cool)

my partner runs a business with her friend and as a surprise 40th birthday present i want to buy her a new printer but dont know what i should buy her.

Occasionally she has mentioned dye sub printers but even then i havent got a clue what she is talking about

let me tell you what she says about her current printer which by the way is a mitsubishi (that much i know)

the current printer is
- too heavy
- too slow (dont know what they means)

if any one can advise me what i should be buying then i will be very grateful or point me in the right direction so i can take some professional advice

i have around £1000 to spend so need to make the right decision
