There is a model that I want to shoot and she only has done location shots, I suggested her studio shots and she said it's okay but she needs to bring a chaperone and that is the reason that she has location shots only because other photographers didn't like the fact that she wanted to bring a chaperone. Now I don't see any problems with that but I've never had the experience there, based on your experience what do you think of the situation?

I've got no personal experience, but I would say that it's perfectly reasonable for her to want to bring a chaperone, so long as the chaperone doesn't interfere in the session.

If shooting females in a studio I would insist on a chaperone not only for her but for me.. I would have my wife or someone wiht me...

Todays world means its not enough being a decent honest person.. you havent to put yourself in a position where you could be accused of anyhting else.. Sad but...

If anything i'd bring a female from your side too.

guise her as a photographers assistant but where your in a situation where its you and a female and your both unknowns having other parties watch your back is advisable.

I've shot with chaperones before, not an issue. However, best if it's not her boyfriend, that tends not to work well, the model often feels intimidated by their presence.

A female from your camp is always useful (if only to hold the reflector!)

Thanks everyone, so I'd tell her it's okay, and if I can take anyone with me then I will too.

Can't say I've ever found it a problem. The majority of models I've shot with are savvy enough to do the relevant background checks on a photographer they have not worked with before prior to agreeing a shoot with them. As far as studios go, if you are hiring one, in most cases the studio owner will be on hand. This enables him/her to make sure that you are familiar with the equipment, but many will also have a small area/office that they can remain out of the way of the actual shoot, but close enough to act as chaperone if required.

Not a problem but if It's boudoir or glamour then no boyfriends. Have your own assistant there too, preferably female. That's just my rules but you've got to keep yourself covered.
