Need some guidence!!

hey everyone, i feel like im about to become stuck in a rut, as in im starting to take decent pics, but it seems to stop there, on my computer for my eyes and on here, im wating to go to the next step of developments onto canvas and large print, or working with the picture to produce other things and designs etc, i have a full spare bedroom which im thinking about displaying these in.......

..... simple way to explain is i feel like i need 'home work' given or something to aim for so i can share what i do with other local people.

are there magazines or local clubs for this sort of stuff?

i feel like this as i am such a perfectionist! when i look at my picture all i see are the bits to improve and not the bits that are right.

There will almost certainly be a camera club local to you that organises themed competitions as well as giving you like minded people to discuss photography with. Some people love these places others hate them. I guess it comes down to the type of person you are and the type of club you join. Try it and see. Aside from that there's plenty of themed competitions on here (a whole section in fact) if you fancy something offering a little direction in your subject. Of course there is also the option of setting a personal project. Your home town by day and night or try to photograph an emotion. There's loads of opportunities out there you just need to get thinking!

I didn't know about the theme comps on here, feel I could work towards something like tht. I love doing personal task etc I just wish i could work it towards things that people will see, so maybe local comps or themes on here will get the ball rolling
