munch Messages 2,905 Edit My Images No 10 May 2010 #1 I have just had another hard drive put in my PC, problem is "my computer" doesn't recognise it. I run windows XP and when I go into "system properties" and "hardware" it recognises the additional drive. Any one got any ideas?

Right click on 'my Computer' select manage then disk management, select the new drive and create a partion then format it.

OP munch Messages 2,905 Edit My Images No 10 May 2010 #5 Thanks for that I now have a working backup disk in my computer, Will still carry on with a remote back up though. The next question is there a programme available that will automatically back up my files?
