I just bought this today and already think its amazing! Im going to a motorsports event tomorrow and want to make the shutter speed faster, ive followed the instructions in the manual but id still like it to be a bit faster. Is there any way to make it faster?

can someone please help me with my little and probably quite dumb query!!!

Thanks!

motorsport - don't raise shutter speed unless you want a particular effect.

To high a shutter speed and you loose any sense of drama.

My advise would be to use Tv mode and use somewhere around 1/250-1/400 to start with for 3/4 front shots or for sideways pans lower to around 1/125-1/160.

Put it into AI SERVO focus mode as well. Choose a focus point and pick up the car/bike early by holding the button half down and then pressing it fully when the subject is where you want it.

However, any picture, even if there is no blur whatsoever, would be better than a nice crisp background and blurred driver surely?

Perhaps try with a high shutter speed first, then start to make it longer when you get used to panning a bit. Remember to zoom in on your pictures on the LCD screen to check they are sharp though.
