need to change my velborn tripod

I bought a Velbon Ultra Maxi M Tripod but I hate the twist action to make the legs extend, it kills my palm of my hand and I just find it awkward.

I have about £150-£200 to spend and I want it for landscapes, I like the fact this one is light and also goes so low so what should I get that basically serves the same function as this but is sturdier and has a different type of release for the legs?

I think you'll be able to use any head you like as long as the thread size is the same?! :shrug:

Just sold the earlier version of that tripod which I had since they came out 5 yrs ago. Did many a trip & folded small to take on a plane. Bought a Gitzo instead, still dont know why it never let me down
