Hi guys,

For some reason when I connect to the internet using my 3G vodafone dongle it drops off 3G/3G+ straight away and goes to GPRS when coupled with my Samsung Nc10 netbook. However, the same dongle connected to my work laptop works fine and picks up 3G everytime. I've tried all sorts of things like installing the full software etc but I just can't work out what's going wrong. In fact when I run it through the full software I just get an error message and it won't even connect.

Any help would be appreciated.

Cheers,
Adam

You can disable this automatic network switching by using '3G Only' or 'GPRS Only' settings in your Profile. To do this:
1. Create a Profile to use a single network service such as 3G Only, which will prevent the datacard from attempting to access multiple networks. To perform this select Tools / Mobile Profiles / Edit (or 'Profiles' in earlier VMC versions), and select the profile you are currently using.
2. The Profile Manager will offer a drop-down list of network services available. The default option is 'Prefer 3G, but allow GPRS connections'; by selecting the '3G Only' or 'GPRS Only' option, the device will lock into this particular network, no automatic network switching will be performed. Of course, if this network is not available, you will be unable to connect until you move locations (and the network is available) or you change your profile settings again.
You can revert to your default settings at anytime by repeating this process and selecting a different network option
