New 50d but what settings to begin with?

Hi Guys,

I have just bought a 50d and i am wondering if there is anything i should have switched on or off to get the best picture quality until i get to grips with the camera? I was thinking about the likes of noise reduction etc. I know there is a 50d thread but it is just too long to trawl through to find this info.

Highlight tone priority
High ISO expansion

Noise reduction to Standard or LOw
