New arrival

Enjoy your new toy, it's a great lens :) - did you know it was going to be there ?

Bet it was a long day waiting to get home ;) and hope weather better than here at moment as bet you cannot wait to get out with it :) I'm a Nikon user but always hear great things about that lens from canon users

The weather is pants !!

Must admit, time seemed to sloooooow down after swimbo text me to say I had a DHL parcel.

I purchased from fleabay Germany. Placed my order late on Tuesday evening and it was delivered today at a total of £1446.This figure included Paypal's 3.5% currency conversion charge at €1.35 to the pound. It was still £500 cheaper than UK prices and is covered by the Canon European Warranty. :D:D

To be honest, I was expecting delivery tomorrow. I did have a text saying would be delivered today and swimbo confirmed delivery around 13.00.

Have just booked tickets for Old Sarum airshow in September. That should give it a good try out.

Why?
Is there a reason why not? I have 100-400 and i don't put a uv filter if it''s a perfect day but if it's a bit misty or close to possible sea spray i do.
Why pay all that money for fluorite and ED glass and then stick something on the front that works against those features, I guess.

Yes you're right and i do the same for most of my lenses. If it's a lovely day i don't put the filter. But I paid my 100-400 750£ which is a lot of money for me and if i'm out on the cliffs watching bird with potential sea spray i do put a filter and if it's raining i don't even take it out. It's just natural instinct to protect my asset when talking of such expensive bits of kit.
