Looking for a new bag to carry laptop and d300 I'm looking at a lowepro flipside 400 read good reviews on it but would like to know does anyone here use one or ever used one if so what are pro and cons and if not this one would you recommend any other bags .

Will you be wanting to carry much more (photographic or non-photographic gear) than a body & lens? Will you be carrying it for use 'on the hoof/fly' or just for transporting from A to Z? imho, these questions to an extent determine what the pros & cons are.

I've had no experience of the Flipside 400 but I do have a Fastpack 350 which I am very fond of. It won't hold as much in the dedicated camera compartment as the Flipside will hold. In the dedicated compartment, I get my camera with 28-135 attached, a 10-20mm, a flashgun, cleaning kit, several filters, and a load of spare batteries, cards etc with no problem. With a bit of re-configuration, I could get another small lens in there too (or a 70-200 on the body - but that would also require a re-configuration of my finances). Does the Flipside have a laptop compartment?

Very comfortable for walking distances/carrying all day - the hip-belt works. Laptop pocket is very useful for waterproofs/hydration bladder/other odds'n'sods too (if you're not carrying a laptop). Top compartment and panel pockets holds quite a bit of gear (photographic or non-photographic) - I use it for day-walks. It will also take a Sigma 150-500 in the top compartment (suitably wrapped of course).

Camera access is very easy.

For 'future reference', I carry my tripod or monopod by putting the head in the mesh side pocket and securing the legs with a cinch strap threaded through the carry-handle. I also carry a waterproof rucsac cover just in case - as this bag doesn't come with one. I often carry my waterproof/fleece under the bottom 'camera compartment safety-flap' cinch straps.

@ weyborne no m8 just from a-z as for dedicated laptop pocket not sure tbh but I typed it in asking for laptop/camera bag and this come up I also like how you can access all your gear did look at kato very nice bags but a bit out of my price range tbh my budget is between £50-£100 so that's them out
 
I have the Lowepro Flipside 400 AW and there is definately no laptop pocket. Unless they just released a newer model although I though mine was the latest.
 
I've just had to order another bag to squeeze all my gear into. I started with a Tamrac Ultra Pro 13 but I outgrew it eventually, then went to a Tamrac Expedition 9x rucksack which I've now got filled to capacity. I've now ordered another Tamrac bag, this is the Super Pro 14 (the biggest I could find) and should be able to get all my gear in plus 1 or 2 new bits in the future. They do a great range of bags and are brilliantly made.
