Yes
Got a quote from a local repairer with a good rep of £110.
Looking online I can get a battery for around £50ish and from videos it looks easy enough to do it myself.
anyone done it and does anyone have a recommendation for a decent battery?

thanks

Thats a great pricer for a repair - ive seen £200 everywhere.

Dont both diy, no warranty, someting that looks simple can quickly go wrong and I have an irrational fear of lithium batteries from somewhere I dont know where I am buying from

£70 for no headaches and time saved,

I'd diy if I had another machine just to learn etc

What would worry me about batteries bought online is, there's absolutely no guarantee the're anywhere new. My wife bought a replacement battery for her phone, it was worse than the old one!

agree about buying laptop batteries online, I once bought a replacement battery for a Phillips laptop on eBay it was rubbish, I’m a lot more careful where I but batteries from now
