New Battery of Ebay

Hi all

first post here. Bought a battery of Ebay for my D40x a few weeks ago. Put it in the battery but got a message up" you can only use a Nikon battery in this camera"

Has anyone else come across this sort of thing before.

Maybe cheap batteries off ebay arnt the answer.

Hmm interesting, I know it's of no use whatsoever for you but but I run a third party camera in my 400D. Are you sure it is the right model for the camera maybe?

Yes it was advertised as

"You are bidding on a BRAND NEW Non-OEM Nikon 100% Compatible EN-EL9 Battery pack rechargeable battery. "

I've been using batteries from SterlingTek for many years now in my Canon's 10D, 30D and XTi (400D) and never had a problems, I believe they outlast the Canon batteries.
What make of battery did you buy from ebay?

It would appear that Nikons are more choosy(?) than Canons when it comes to putting foreign objects in them:LOL:
