New camera advice

My sister is living in Aus until May, and has suddenly decided she wants a dslr. I told her not to bother an to just get a decen p&s as it will be hassle carrying it around and plus buying it out there may cause an issue later on. Plus she want know how to use it!

So can anyone recomend a nice p&s camera, probably around the £150 mark?

The Canon IXUS 95 is a nice compact.. recommended it to my sister-in-law, she's well pleased with it (even if she did get a pink one :nono: )

Can be had for under £150.. check out Kelkoo etc.

I'll second the Canon Ixus range. I bought one for my dad's 60th and he loves it.

Other cameras to look at, try the little Panasonic's they get a good write up, something like the FS15 ?

I've got a Ricoh CX2 as a backup to my DSLR, very nice camera, and now they've anounced the CX3 then expect the price of the 2 to start to fall. but maybe still a bit steep if £150 is your limit
