New camera help

Just boughtmyself a Nikon D90 and when i turn it on i have to keep pressing the info button to light up the display screen at the back and i have had a quick flick through manual but not found anything and thought its quicker to ask on here if some one might know the answer

Don't know the D90 ,but I have the D300 and if you want to check you look at the top little screen near the shutter,or through the viewfinder.

If you want to view as you do ,you do as you do ,and press the info button, it,s meant for nighttime mainly though one can use it any time.

I think there must be a song in that reply somewhere...
