new camera ,sensor problem????

Just got a brand new nikon D7000 camera...the problem that i have, is a purple line running down the right hand side of picture? could this be the sensor...tried a few lenses, with same results....mark

That looks like a sensor problem, I'd send it straight back.

Try it with a different memory card, just to eliminate that possibility.

Could also be corrupt card or faulty card reader?

Try formatting the card, using a different card and using a different card reader.

If its got to go back hope its local or at least UK, you would think that should be picked up at quality control

yes tried, two different cards ,two different readers, same out-come... not amused ...should have stayed with my D300...mark

What software are you using to process them? Capture One used to have a similar problem when the Canon 1DM3 first came out. Took them a good two months to update the software.

mixed feelings at the moment, mate...seems that it could perform well.. very fast focus, super quiet shutter, not like the noise the D300 makes...iso seems very good ,mark...

Are these raw ( NEF ) files? If so, try with Jpegs ( or if Jpegs try Raw. What image processing software are you using. Some users of Picassa have had similar results to you showing a purple line to the right.
Can you try opening them using a different programme?

GIVE THAT MAN A CIGAR!!!! that's what it was mate... it doesn't like picassa,
opened with CS5 ok,in jpg & raw,thanks Allan...mark

Glad it was as simple as that Mark and nothing sinister, I too would love to hear your initial thoughts on the 7000 compared to the D300S, one of those will be my next purchase
